I'm still working on 'selling myself' (if you'll forgive that particular phrase!), so I'll update this slightly narcissistic page soon!

Ever since I was a child, I’ve had a fascination with the natural world. From exploring the local woodland investigating and inspecting various ‘creepy crawlies’, through to walking over two miles back home with a skull in my hand (partially along a dual carriageway, when I was about 9!), for my mother to identify. Sadly, over time, this sense over wonder became mislaid and I became an IT engineer. Then, around 2003, I started to gradually rediscover my love of nature. Recently, having become increasingly frustrated with the state of the environment and our attitudes towards it, I decided to change career

I am currently studying toward a degree at one of the country’s leading universities, whilst also volunteering for the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust and The Woodland Trust. I live with my partner in a small town of the edge of the Peak District National Park.
